The process
How selling your watch works.
Four steps, one point of contact, no fees. From enquiry to payment usually takes a few days.
- 1
Describe your watch
You fill in the form: brand, model, reference, year, condition, what comes with the watch, and photos of it. From a phone this takes about three minutes. You receive an immediate confirmation with your reference number.
- 2
Receive your offer
We put the watch data and photos to our partner dealers, anonymised and without your contact details. More than 25 dealers place a bid. The highest reaches you within 12 hours on working days as a binding offer, by WhatsApp or email, with a link to your own offer page.
- 3
Accept it
On that page you see the amount, how long it is valid, usually several days, and the proviso: the offer stands provided condition, authenticity and completeness match your description. One click accepts it. You may also decline, without giving a reason and at no cost.
- 4
Handover and payment
After you accept we contact you within 24 hours to arrange a time. The handover takes place wherever suits you in Switzerland: a bank branch, a notary's office, your workplace or your home. We check the watch on the spot and pay in cash, by bank transfer or by Twint. Only then does the watch change hands.
Frequently asked
Answers up front.
How quickly do I receive an offer?
Within 12 hours on working days. Once you submit the form your watch goes to our partner dealers, and as soon as their bids are in you receive the highest one by WhatsApp or email, whichever you chose.
What does the service cost?
Nothing. The enquiry, the valuation and the offer are free and without obligation. Uhrenkontor earns from trading watches, not from fees charged to sellers.
Do I have to post my watch?
No. The handover happens in person in Switzerland, at a place you choose: a bank branch, a notary, your office or your home. Your watch stays with you until payment is confirmed.
What if the condition differs at handover?
The offer stands provided condition, authenticity and completeness match your description. If something differs we make a revised offer on the spot. You may accept or decline it, and it costs you nothing either way.
Can I sell without box and papers?
Yes. A missing box or warranty card affects the price but is never a reason to decline. What matters is that you own the watch and that it is genuine.
How am I paid?
In cash, by bank transfer or by Twint, at the handover once the watch has been checked. You choose, and you receive a purchase contract and a receipt.
