We buy watches across Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Selling a Hublot in Switzerland works best with the complete set and through a buyer who compares bids from several dealers. Value depends on the collection, case material, movement, limitation, condition and completeness. Big Bang, Classic Fusion and Spirit of Big Bang are the sought-after lines, and limited editions with certificate and box produce the most reliable bids.

Uhrenkontor is a platform of Solidas GmbH, entered in the commercial register of the canton of Schwyz with its registered office in Schindellegi SZ. Over 25 partner dealers across Switzerland assess your Hublot from watch data and photos, without seeing your contact details. On working days the highest bid reaches you within 12 hours as a binding offer, free of charge, without obligation and valid for several days.

What determines the value of a Hublot?

Limited runs and special editions

Hublot releases many limited series, for example with sports clubs, artists or other brands. Not every limitation is equally sought after on the secondary market: small runs from well-known collaborations find buyers more easily than large runs of regional editions. What counts is the numbering on the case, a certificate with the matching number and the complete original packaging, which on editions is often elaborate.

Case material and movement

Hublot works with titanium, ceramic, King Gold, carbon, sapphire and the scratch-resistant Magic Gold presented in 2011. Material and finish account for a large share of value; ceramic and titanium models are common, sapphire and Magic Gold cases are rare. On movements, dealers distinguish between watches based on supplied calibres and those with in-house calibres such as the Unico chronograph, introduced in 2010 as the brand's first fully in-house chronograph movement.

A sober view of value development

Like most new watches, a Hublot trades on the secondary market below its list price, and an increase in value is not to be expected with regular models. If you are selling a Hublot, current dealer interest is the yardstick, not the price you paid.

Condition, accessories and service history

Rubber straps wear, ceramic bezels chip at the edges and polished titanium parts show marks quickly. Dealers check strap, bezel, crystal and the function of the chronograph. A full set with original box, warranty card, spare strap and purchase receipt makes resale easier.

Which Hublot models are most in demand?

The Big Bang has been the brand's core model since its presentation in 2005. The Big Bang Unico with its in-house chronograph, the 44 mm Big Bang Original and models in ceramic, titanium and King Gold are in demand.

The Classic Fusion has been the slimmer, more classical line since 2008, referring back to the original design of 1980. Three-hand models and chronographs in titanium or ceramic at 42 or 45 mm are the everyday watches of the brand and are asked for regularly. Skeletonised versions and those in King Gold form a category of their own.

The Spirit of Big Bang was presented in 2014 and transfers the Big Bang design into a tonneau-shaped case. It is rarer on the secondary market than the Big Bang but has a clearly defined audience. Chronographs in titanium and ceramic, along with limited colour editions, are the most common.

Older Hublot models from before 2005, often with a quartz movement and a plain case, are also purchased, provided the market value is above roughly CHF 3,000. In that case, describe the reference and the condition particularly precisely.

How selling your Hublot works

  1. Fill in the form: In around 3 minutes you enter model, reference, limitation number, condition and completeness and upload photos.
  2. Valuation by over 25 partner dealers: Dealers only ever see watch data and photos, never your contact details. On working days the highest bid reaches you within 12 hours as a binding offer.
  3. Decide without pressure: The offer is valid for several days, free of charge and without obligation. It applies subject to condition, authenticity and completeness matching your description.
  4. Handover in person and payment: Handover anywhere in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, for example at a bank branch, a notary's office, your workplace or your home. After the check, payment follows in cash, by bank transfer or by Twint. Where something differs, you receive an adjusted offer at no cost.

How to recognise a reputable buyer

A reputable buyer states the validity of the offer, the inspection procedure and the payment route in advance, and then keeps to them. With a limited-edition Hublot that includes comparing the numbering with the certificate rather than judging the overall impression.

Check the company: a commercial register entry, a legal notice and a contactable address are the minimum standard. Anyone working through anonymous listings, pushing for an immediate decision or asking you to send the watch in advance "for inspection" should not be trusted.

Pay attention to the payment route. Cash against a signed receipt and purchase contract, bank transfer and Twint can all be traced. Handovers at a bank branch or a notary's office are usual with valuable watches and protect both sides; at a bank branch you can deposit cash straight away.

More on the selling routes and their advantages and drawbacks is in the guide to selling a watch in Switzerland and under how it works.

Frequently asked

Selling a Hublot.

Can I sell my Hublot without box and papers?

Yes, Uhrenkontor buys Hublot watches without box and papers. The partner dealers check authenticity and reference from the photos and examine the movement at handover. Because Hublot editions usually come with elaborate packaging and a certificate, dealers normally rate a complete set higher than the watch on its own.

Does my Hublot need a service before I sell it?

No, a service before the sale is not necessary. Uhrenkontor buys Hublot watches that are due for servicing or have a worn rubber strap, and the dealers take that into account in their bid. Paying for an overhaul yourself rarely pays off before a sale. Existing service records from Hublot should be included.

Are limited Hublot editions valued more highly?

Not automatically. Small runs from well-known collaborations with a complete certificate and original packaging are in demand, whereas large runs of regional editions are assessed much like regular models. Dealer demand, material and condition decide. Give the limitation number and the name of the edition in the form so dealers can bid precisely.

How quickly do I get an offer for my Hublot?

On working days you receive the highest bid from the over 25 partner dealers within 12 hours as a binding offer. It is valid for several days, free of charge and without obligation, and applies subject to condition, authenticity and completeness matching the description at handover.

Does a Hublot lose value on the secondary market?

Like most new watches, a Hublot trades below its list price after purchase, and an increase in value is not to be expected with regular models. Rare materials such as sapphire or Magic Gold and sought-after limited editions narrow the gap. The yardstick when selling is current dealer interest, not the original purchase price.

Do I have to pay tax on the proceeds of a Hublot sale?

Capital gains on movable private assets are generally tax-free in Switzerland. It is different where the tax authority assumes commercial dealing, for example with frequent buying and selling. This is not legal or tax advice; if in doubt, contact your cantonal tax office or a fiduciary.

Why do I get less for my Hublot than Chrono24 shows?

Chrono24 shows asking prices, not achieved selling prices. Hublot releases many references and limited editions, often in different materials such as ceramic, titanium or gold. Similar-looking models are therefore listed at very different prices. A dealer buying today ties up capital, checks the watch, carries warranty, marketing and price risk, and needs a trading margin.

Why listing prices on Chrono24, Ricardo or Tutti sit above the buying price
